Privacy Policy for Little Learners Lab

Little Learners Lab is built for kids ages 4–5 and their parents. We respect your family’s privacy. This policy explains what data the app does and does not handle.
What we collect: nothing.
Little Learners Lab does not collect, transmit, store on any server, or share any personal information. The app has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers.
What stays on your device
The app stores the following information locally on your device, using iOS’s standard preferences storage:
- Player name — the name you enter during onboarding (optional; can be skipped or left blank). Used only to greet your child on the home screen.
- Language preferences — your chosen primary and optional secondary language (English, Spanish, French, Italian, or Brazilian Portuguese). Used only to display and narrate the app in the languages you select.
- App settings — onboarding status, narration preference, and tracing layout choices. Used only to remember how you configured the app.
- Game progress — activity completion and progress information. Used only to show progress and guide the next activity on this device.
None of this information ever leaves your device. It is not synced to iCloud, sent to us, or shared with anyone.
Photos
Two games (Memory Match and Photo Puzzle) can optionally use photos from your device’s Photo Library. When you choose to use this feature, the app reads selected photos from your library and uses them only inside the game session on your device. Photos are not uploaded, shared, sent to any server, or kept after the game ends.
Apple’s system photo picker controls which photos the app can access.
Camera
Hand Count can optionally use the front camera so children can answer counting questions by holding up their fingers. The app uses Apple’s Vision framework to recognize the number of raised fingers. Camera frames are processed only on the device and are never recorded, saved, uploaded, transmitted, or shared.
The app requests camera permission before using this feature. If permission is denied, Hand Count remains unavailable. A grown-up-gated control can open the app’s page in iOS Settings so a parent can review the permission.
Retention, permissions, and deletion
Local settings and game progress remain on the device so the app can remember them between sessions. A parent can change the player name, languages, narration preference, and other available settings inside the app. Deleting the app removes its locally stored settings and progress.
Photos selected for Memory Match or Photo Puzzle are used only for the current game session and are not retained by the app after that session. Hand Count camera frames are discarded immediately after on-device processing. Camera and photo access can be reviewed or revoked at any time in iOS Settings.
Because Little Learners Lab does not collect or store information on a server, there is no server-held account or personal data to request, export, or delete.
Children’s privacy
Little Learners Lab is designed for children ages 4 and up and complies with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by collecting no personal information. The app does not display advertising, contains no in-app purchases, and does not include links to social media or unrestricted websites. The only link outside the app opens its page in iOS Settings after a grown-up gate when camera permission has been denied.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top. Because we collect no contact information, we cannot notify users individually.
